How Do I Take Care Of My Tattoo?
- Keep the bandage on for the time your artist recommends (usually a few hours)
- Wash your hands, then gently clean the tattoo with mild, unscented soap and lukewarm water.
- Pat dry. Apply a thin layer of recommended ointment or fragrance-free lotion.
- Repeat the washing and lotioning a few times per day, every day for the next two weeks.
- After a few days you might notice some flaking (this is normal). Don’t pick, scratch, or peel flakes or scabs! It will naturally shed off with regular washing and lotioning.
- Avoid sun, swimming, soaking, and heavy sweating until fully healed (about 2–4 weeks).
- Keep it clean, moisturized, and protected from friction. Always wash your hands prior to taking care of your tattoo, and don't place your fresh tattoo in contact with dirty hands, pets, or surfaces.
Before You Arrive
- Make sure you abstain from heavy drinking and get a good nights rest. The better you treat yourself in the days leading up to the appointment, the better the overall session will be.
- Please eat a substantial meal before arriving. Bringing some hard candy and a sugary drink is a great way to keep you going throughout the session.
- Wear comfortable clothes that you wouldn't mind getting ink on (it happens). Choose clothing that allows us to easily access the area you want tattooed.
- Please arrive early for your appointment, with your valid ID.
